Manama, Bahrain – xx September 2024: Al Salam Bank recently welcomed a group of participants from the Ithra program, an initiative launched by AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation (MKF). The educational visit aimed to familiarize the young trainees with the latest industry practices and the Bank's day-to-day operations.
An introductory session was delivered by several employees at Al Salam Bank to the 11 students, providing them with an overview of the Bank's various departments and overall work environment. A segment was also conducted to answer all the students' inquiries with the aim of developing their understanding of general business procedures and the Islamic banking sector.
Commenting on the occasion, Ms. Muna AlBalooshi, Head of Human Resources and Administration at Al Salam Bank, said: "In line with our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) framework, this initiative reaffirms our support for community development as we continue to invest in our emerging youth by preparing them to integrate into the job market, particularly in the banking industry. We are pleased to be supporting the Foundation's goals towards enacting positive community impact and enabling young Bahrainis to reach their full potential."
Set across two phases, the Ithra program is designed for students between the ages of 12 to 15 and includes workshops, field trips, challenges, camps, sports day, arts and crafts, and practical training in etiquette and good conduct, as well as final projects.
As part of its CSR platform "Al Salam Helping Hands", Al Salam Bank maintains its commitment to spreading awareness among the next generation by adopting initiatives focused on innovation and education. The initiative also underscores the Bank's Guiding Pillar "We Act with Empathy", which focuses on building an informed generation armed with the knowledge and experience to enter the future labor market.
